A bilingual play, “That summer” in Vietnamese and Korean languages performed by the Korean Jigeum Troupe and Youth Theater is presented at Youth Theater in Hanoi on October 28-29.

The play is a cooperation of Hanoi’s Youth Theater and Korea’s Jigeum Troupe in the framework of the Vietnam-Korea artistic cultural cultural exchange 2016.

The play tells about  Yoon Hee, a 40-year-old woman who has a husband and two children. Her father passed away early and left her stuck with the mother. Right after graduating from university, Yoon Hee immediately got married to run away from her mother. She always feels uncomfortable when relying on someone else so she always works hard to have full control on her life. Then, one day her mother who used to live with her brother moved to her house and changed her life.

Yoon Hee’s mother is addicted to shopping and cosmetic surgery. She constantly awakes the thought of being woman in Yoon Hee. Yoon Hee becomes torn between two thoughts: to be kind to her mother or run away from her.
