Art festival of five ASEAN countries ends in Quang Tri

The ASEAN art festival with the participation of five ASEAN countries, including Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand closed in the central province of Quang Tri on July 25.

The ASEAN art festival with the participation of five ASEAN countries, including Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand closed in the central province of Quang Tri on July 25.

The organization board awarded four special medals to art troupes of Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand, and offered 27 golden medals and 59 silver medals to excellent performances.

The event attracted 21 art groups with 960 artists, including 17 Vietnamese troupes and 4 foreign troupes from ASEAN countries, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand.

221 art performances presented to Vietnamese audiences the people, cultures, national characteristics and achievements gained in the past and at present of countries, as well as praise the friendly relations and solidarity among the ASEAN members.

The festival is an opportunity for artists to meet and exchange on arts and strengthen the relationship among nations in ASEAN.

The event was co-organized by the Department of Performing Arts, the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, the International Cooperation Department,  the Viet Nam Dancers' Association and the Vietnam Musicians Association.
