The event is expected to attract 400 athletes of 27 teams from Hanoi and the neighboring provinces.
They will compete at two categories including standard and traditional boat racing.
Accordingly, the first, second and third prizes cost VND 100 million respectively.
Director of Hanoi Culture, Sports and Tourism Department Mr. To Van Dong said that Hanoi organizes the dragon boat racing festival for the first time aiming to restore and develop the traditional sport.
The festival is under cooperation and development program of culture, sport and tourism between Hanoi city and Vietnam Airlines.
