105 contestants participate in HCMC Piano Competition 2018

Around 105 domestic and international contestants from provinces and cities nationwide, and South Korea, Hungary have participated in Ho Chi Minh City Piano Competition 2018 which is taking place at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music from June 12-17.

The contest is open to ages from 6 to 24. Contestants will compete in two categories: Professional and Non-professional.
The jury board comprises musicians and well-known pianists and professors at home and abroad, including Ph.D Le Ho Hai, Ph.D Nguyen Thuy Yen, teachers Nguyen Anh Thu and Nguyen Anh Vu of of Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music; Ph.D Pham Trong Chuong of Hanoi College of Culture and Arts; Hungarian professor Gabor Eckhardt; Russian professor Tamara Rusanova; Ph.D Stephanie Shih-yu Cheng of the US; Ph.D Joo Eun Young of South Korea.
The competition aims to discover young musical talents and bring classical music closer to Vietnamese music lovers.
Winners of categories will have a chance to take part in an international music camp in Hungary which will be held from July 13-August 5.
