Vietnamobile cuts charges for first time

Vietnamobile reduced the mobile phone network’s rates on June 10, two months into the launch of the new GSM operator across the country.

The program enables its subscribers to save VND100 for every minute of voice calls, from VND1,600 to VND1,500 for pre-paying users, and VND1,100 to VND1,000 for post-paying subscribers.

In addition, the network provides some optional packages to on-net users such as VM text, with 25 free on-net SMS within seven days for a nominal registration fee of VND2,000.

Vietnamobile is also providing its new prepaid customers activated in June with two minutes free for every two outgoing minutes from this month through the end of September. The new customers in the program will get a 100% value of the scratch cards and bonus 60 days of usage.

The operator charges its customers based on per second billing starting the moment a call is connected.

Vietnamobile, with phone numbers starting with 092, is a partnership between Hutchison Telecommunications International and local operator Hanoi Telecom. Hutchison previously operated in Vietnam under the name HT Mobile, using CDMA technology.
