US pledges to create favorable condition for Vietnam’s pangasius


The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA), Foreign Agricultural Service had a working with leaders of Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry of Vietnam in Hanoi yesterday.

At the working, the USDA's Office of Agreements and Scientific Affairs, Foreign Agricultural Service Mr. Robert Macke exchanged related contents to boost mutual trade relations for the agriculture field between the two nations. 

Vietnamese side desired that the partner would continue creating more favorable conditions for Vietnamese aquatic enterprises to strengthen trade relations with the US.

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Tran Thanh Nam called on USDA would early recognize related procedures for export of Vietnamese star apple and mango into the U.S market; and suggested the partner will assist technology and organic agricultural projects, and open training courses on organic product certification for Vietnamese experts. 

In parallel, Mr. Robert Macke also discussed on a catfish inspection program of USDA in the recent time. He said that the US has made efforts in solving difficult problems and paid the best favorable condition of Vietnam in the previous years, pledging that the US will support Vietnam’s pangasius exports in the upcoming time.

USDA also had a working with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development about APEC food safety cooperation.
