Tra Vinh Province grants $120-million wind power project

The Tra Vinh 1 Wind Energy Project was granted investment certificate on June 11, according to the provincial Economic Zones Management Board.

The Tra Vinh 1 Wind Energy Project was granted investment certificate on June 11, according to the provincial Economic Zones Management Board.

The 100-percent-foreign-invested wind power project costs US$120 million and will last for 50 years. It will be built at Dinh An Economic Zone and comprises of a 48-megawatt plant with 24 wind turbines.

The plant will start construction in September this year and it is expected to put into operation in September 2017. The project aims to generate power from wind energy then supply the national power grid.
