The event, jointly held by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and the India-based Balaji Enterprises, marks the close cooperation between garment and textile businesses of Vietnam and India to promote sustainable development of this sector in Vietnam.
It brought together more than 40 reputable firms specialising in producing denim, accessories and textile from 11 countries and territories, including India, Switzerland, Thailand, the Republic of Korea, China, and Singapore.
In the framework of the event, six seminars will be held with the participation of international experts who will discuss the future of denim supplies, and the denim supply chain link for sustainable development.
VITAS Chairman Vu Duc Giang said the event is hoped to help Vietnamese firms access technology, devices and designs of denim and jeans of the newest trends.
The exhibition also offers chances to enhance partnerships between Vietnamese and Indian apparel firms, in a bid to realise the targets of sustainable development in export markets.
By signing many free trade agreements (FTAs), especially the European Union (EU) - Vietnam FTA and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Vietnam becomes one of the top attractive destinations for investors who are interested in the textile and garment industry, Giang said.
Sandeep Agarwal, CEO of Balaji Enterprises said Vietnam’s garment and textile has enjoyed strong growth over the years. Notably, the sector’s export turnover to the US hit 4 billion USD in the first four months of 2018.
