Located in Da Lat City’s Ward 12, Thai Phien flower village was formed in 1956. More than 700 farming households now grow blossoms such as roses, daisies, carnations and more, on an area of over 150 hectares. Over 300 million of the flowers are sold at home and abroad every year. Farming households have earned VND500 million-1 billion per hectare per year.
Application of advanced techniques in planting vegetables and flowers has made a firm foundation for the village to develop high-tech agriculture successfully.
In 2010, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong recognized Thai Phien flower village as the first traditional trade village in the province. The provincial government hopes the village will become a hub for flower growers to exchange products and information, and become an attractive destination for visitors.
At present, Da Lat has some 50,000 hi-tech production hectares.
