Tay Ninh inaugurates largest solar power project in Southeast Asia

Dau Tieng solar power complex, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, was inaugurated in the southern province of Tay Ninh on September 7.

The complex comprising DT1 and DT2 plants is the investment cooperation result between Vietnamese Xuan Cau Company and Thai Grimm Power Public Company with the total investment capital of VND9,100 billion (US$390.73 million).

Built over 540 hectares of the semi-submerged area of Dau Tieng Lake, the 420MW complex will supply the national grid with about 688 million kWh of electricity a year.

Attending the ceremony was former President Nguyen Minh Triet, head of Central Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh, standing deputy secretary of HCMC Party Committee Tran Luu Quang together with leaders of Binh Duong, Kien Giang and Binh Dinh provinces.
