Vietnamese stock market loses US$1.15 billion in wake of Brexit

After a plunge on Friday in the wake of Britain’s exit from the EU (Brexit), market capitalization in the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (Hose) and Hanoi Stock Exchange  (HNX)  reduced VND25,422 billion (US$1.15 billion) to only VND1,4 00,196 billion.

 

Of these, Hose reduced VND22,618 billion to VND1,247,310 billion while HNX lost VND2,804 billion to VND152,866 billion.

 

Foreign investors strongly sold blue-chip stocks including HPG, VNM, PVD and PVS. They posted a net sale value of VND47.61 billion in the two exchanges, down 42.77 percent over the previous session.
