Stock market thrives after Tet

A week after the Tet holidays, Vietnamese stock market has seen flourish trading sessions and point gains after a long time of loss before.

A week after the Tet holidays, Vietnamese stock market has seen flourish trading sessions and point gains after a long time of loss before.

According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), foreign investors were net buyers of 4.77 million shares last week. In the previous week, they were net sellers of 2.09 million shares.

On February 19, they were net buyers of nearly 18.56 shares with a total value of VND230 billion (US$10.32 million), 10.5fold increase over the previous day which was the largest net purchase trading session since the beginning of this year.

However, foreign net sales value totaled VND52.17 billion ($2.34 million) last week, down nearly 80 percent compared to the previous week when net purchase value hit VND254.3 billion ($11.41 million).
