The Saigon Trading Group (Satra) yesterday held the promotion cooperation conference in consuming agricultural products between Satra and Long An province.
Satra said its member companies need from 100,000 to 150,000 tons of rice; 10,000 tons of vegetables, fruits and 5,000 tons of seafood for processing and export and Long An is one of top provinces which Satra wants to cooperate with.
Director of Department of Industry & Trade Le Minh Duc said Long An's dragon fruits have the highest value & quality but local farmers often face many difficulties due to traders buy dragon fruits with the extremely low price. Therefore Long An wants Satra will consume Long An's fruits and other agricultural products for local market or export.
Nguyen Phuc Khoa, deputy director from Satra's business division said Binh Dien wholesale market is consuming many products from Long An. Total consumption value from Long An accounts for VND 10billion per day.
