Samsung helps Vietnam train 200 industry experts

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and South Korea’s Samsung Vietnam yesterday jointly held an opening meeting for a training program for 200 Vietnamese experts in support industry of Vietnam.

The program’s aim is to train 200 Vietnamese experts who are able to provide training to enterprises in the field of support industry. Thanks to experts’ training, enterprises’ competitive capabilities will be able to raise to catch up with their counterparts in supplying in global chains.
Before, in the framework of Korean President’ visit to Vietnam in last March, the Ministry and Samsung Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding about implementation of the training program.
Accordingly, the program will run in two years including eight courses each lasting 12 weeks (four weeks for theory training and eight weeks for practicing in local enterprises)
With the aim of training 200 experts for the sector in two years, the program will train 100 skillful experts as per a set procedure of Samsung.
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh hailed the significance of the program because it will help enhance capacity of Vietnamese firms, strengthening their competitiveness and opening up new opportunities for them in engaging in supply chains of multinational groups, including Samsung.
Addressing at the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Korea, Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung stressed that during 25 past years, the Vietnam – Korea bilateral relationship developed in all fields especially in commerce and investment.
Republic of Korea (RoK) is one of the top economic partners of Vietnam, Mr. Dung said.
In 2017, the Vietnam – Korea bilateral trade revenue reached $64 billion. Vietnam is the second largest trade partner of Korea and Korea is Vietnam’s second commerce partner.
More and more Korean businesses have poured their investment capital in Vietnam, making important contributions to the country’s economic development, he said.
The most Korean successful enterprises in the Southeast Asian country is Samsung Corporation.
Since its establishment in Vietnam, Samsung complexes have grown contributing much in Vietnam’s state budget and offering employments for local laborers; especially Samsung’s export revenue accounts for large amount in Vietnam’s.
Attending the opening ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh.
