That was reported by Mr. Nguyen Vu Toan, director of Saigon Co.op’s business division to a delegation from HCMC People’s Council led deputy chairwoman Truong Thi Anh yesterday.
Of the prepared items, the supply of subsidized goods such as rice, sticky rice, pork, chicken eggs, cooking oil, sugar, processed food, vegetables and fruits will increase 5-30 percent.
Other products such as industrial foodstuff, confectionary, beverage and beer will hike 15-30 percent to meet surging demand during the holiday.
Saigon Co.op will supplement many items under the union’s brand names including organic food for the Tet Holiday with the total supply of 100 tons of vegetables, fruit, meat and fish.
Besides preparing goods, Saigon Co.op has focused on developing its distribution network to supply consumers with clear origin, good quality and reasonable price products.
The union is expected to open an extra of 4-5 Co.opmart supermarkets, Co.opXtra and ten convenient stores in HCMC and Hanoi yearend.
