Carrying out Government's Resolution 120 / NQ-CP on sustainable development of the Mekong Delta to adapt climate change, the city has signed a comprehensive and bilateral cooperation agreement with 13 provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta.

The city has focused on building transport infrastructure connections, investment in infrastructure and urban areas, industry and agriculture projects, river basins protection and waste treatment, transport of goods among enterprises, and tourism development, etc.

Investment cooperation programs have achieved the rermarkable success, however, their results are still not commensurate with potentiality of the provinces and the city, even some programs have been approved but the implementation process has been sluggish.

Therefore, HCMC proposed a coordination mechanism to ensure the coherence among Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and city of the Mekong Delta to achieve efficiency in the forthcoming time.
