He made the statement at a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the city People’s Committee Tat Thanh Cang, the Export Processing and Industrial Zone Authority, HCMC Trade and Investment Promotion Center and Jetro.

At the meeting discussing ways for development of the support industry in HCMC, Mr. Yoshimura expressed his hope that meetings would be regularly hosted so that Japanese businesses can have a background and help Vietnamese businesses develop the support industry.

Japanese businesses have to import components and accessories for production now. Therefore, it is necessary to develop local support industry, according to him.

Deputy Chairman Cang hoped that Japanese businesses would soon determine support industry products they need and propose a routine of cooperation in production between the two sides. Thence, Vietnamese enterprises would be able to make products in accordance with demand of Japanese companies.
