HCMC receives nearly 43. 6 million from INGOs

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations had a meeting with International non-governmental organizations (INGO) in Ho Chi Minh City on June 2.

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations had a meeting with International non-governmental organizations (INGO) in Ho Chi Minh City on June 2.

At the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Huynh Cach Mang expressed his appreciation of the programs, projects and donations of INGOs which effectively contributed in the city’s social economic development.

Last year, INGOs donated to the city's ten new projects, three adjustment projects and 171 non-project aids with total value of nearly US$ 43. 6 million, an increase of nine percent compared to 2014.

The deputy chairman affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City always encourages as well as creates convenient conditions for INGOs' activities.

Vice President of INGOs in Ho Chi Minh City Phung Cong Dung said that the city has licensed to 145 International non-governmental organizations and the sum of INGOS' donation has chiefly focused on health, science research sectors.
