HCMC keeps close eye on pork transport to prevent viral disease of pigs

HCMC People’s Committee has required heads of relevant agencies to intensify inspection over pork transport at railway and bus stations and ports to prevent African swine fever (ASF) from spreading to the city, said deputy director of the city’s Department of Transport Tran Quang Lam on November 2.

The committee required relevant agencies to inspect and take control over transport means especially those carrying unclear origin and unquarantined pigs and pork.
They should coordinate with station and port managements to propaganda and remind passengers not to bring unclear and unquarantined pork products and handle violations according to the law.
