Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong yesterday said that he hoped businesses to continue accompanying the city in improving business and investment environment in the upcoming time.
He was speaking at a ceremony to honor 10 excellent young entrepreneurs in 2016 by the HCMC Communist Youth Union in HCMC, the Vietnam Youth Federation and the HCMC Association of Young Entrepreneurs.
HCMC is willing to listen to opinions and aspirations of businessmen, pledging to take actions to create the most advantageous conditions for the fair and sustainable development of all economic sectors and a healthily competitive environment, he said.
2016 is considered to be the year of startups, creating a foundation for the city to get the target of 500,000 new businesses by 2020. Private sector will contribute to 65 percent of the city's GRDP and 64 percent of total social investment capital.
These targets require the strong attendance by entrepreneur community, he affirmed.
The awards have been given every two years since 2000, honoring a total of 76 excellent young entrepreneurs and 15 outstanding young entrepreneurs from various fields.
