That aims to materialize the formerly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Aeon Mall Vietnam and Hai Phong city.
The MoU was signed under the witness of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at Vietnamese-Japanese businesses workshop within the framework of a state level visit to Japan in June.
Aeon Mall Hai Phong will be built in Kenh Duong and Vinh Niem wards, Le Chan district over 9.3 hectares with the total capital of VND4 trillion (US$180 million). It is expected to come into operation by 2020, create jobs for 2,000 local workers and serve 13 million customers from Hai Phong and neighboring areas.
That will be the third trade center of Aeon Mall Vietnam in the northern region and the sixth in Vietnam. The company plans to develop 20 trade centers in Vietnam from now until 2025.
At present, Aeon Mall's shopping centers have attended in distributing subsidized goods of HCMC and other provinces.
