Government inspectors start investigation on power price adjustment

The Government Inspectorate of Vietnam on May 24 announced official decision to inspect the observance of law in adjusting electric prices on March 20, the pricing method and power bill collection under instruction of the Prime Minister.
The investigation will last for 35 actual working days. The inspection delegation led by Mr. Le Quang Tiep, deputy head of the Department for Sectorial Economic Inspection under the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam, includes 12 members, of which there are some members from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The inspection team will be supervised by a supervision group led by Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, senior inspector of the Department for Post-inspection Supervision, Verification and Settlement.
Mr. Bui Ngoc Lam, deputy inspector general of the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam, requested the Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the ministries of Finance and Industry and Trade and relevant departments to collaborate with the inspection delegation so as to clarify contents relating to observance of law in adjusting electric prices on March 20, the pricing method and power bill collection.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc ordered government inspectors to investigate power price adjustment, power pricing method and power bill collection and report to him in June this year.
