Five firms of Vietnam are among the top 500 performing retail companies in Asia-Pacific of 2014, the Singapore-based Retail Asia Publishing Pte Ltd and Euromonitor (Asia) Pte Ltd have announced.
They are the Saigon Union of Trading Cooperatives with sales in 2013 valued at 1,105 million USD, Big C (of Casino Guichard Perrachon SA), 534 million USD; Nguyen Kim Trading JSC, 490 million USD; Saigon Jewelry Co. Ltd., 487 million USD; and Mobile World JSC, 395 million USD.
Published for the 11th year in Retail Asia - a monthly trade magazine for the retail and supply chain industry in the region, the Retail Asia Pacific Top 500 is an index of the top 500 performing retail companies in 14 economies, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Taiwan (China) and Vietnam.
The ranking tables include variables such as total sales in local currency and US dollars, number of outlets, retail sales area and sales productivity per unit area, year on year.
The Retail Asia-Pacific Top 500 also lists the top 10 retailers in each of the 14 economies.
The 2014 top 10 retailers of Vietnam include the above five companies and Phu Nhuan Jewelry JSC with sales in 2013 valued at 255 million USD; Pico JSC, 156 million USD; Parkson (of Lion Group), 133 million USD); Vien Thong A Import Export Trading Production Corp, 102 million USD; and Tran Anh Digital World JSC, 95 million USD.
The top three retail companies in each of the 14 economies will receive the Gold, Silver and Bronze “Top Retailer” Awards at a ceremony scheduled in November in Singapore.-VNA
