FDI capital increases 17.9 percent

Since the beginning of this year, the country has licensed 1,855 FDI projects with registered capital up to US$ 13.55billion, an increase of 30 percent in number and 1.1 percent in capital compared to the same period last year.

Besides, 692 licensed projects have been adjusted the capital, up to US$ 6.67billion, bringing a total registered capital up to US$ 20.22billion, a 16.7 percent increase compared to last year.

For the first 11 months, FDI capital reached US$ 13.20billion, a 17.9 percent increase from last year.

47 provinces and cities in the country have reported to have new FDI projects in the last 11 months. Of these, Ho Chi Minh City has the largest registered capital of up to US$ 2.54billion, accounted for 18.8 percent.

The Republic of Korea becomes the biggest foreign investor to invest in Vietnam, followed by Malaysia and the UK.
