China Market Keen on Vietnamese Vegetables

The Chinese market has great demand for Vietnamese vegetables, such as pumpkin, fuzzy squash, sweet potato, figs and canarium nuts, and as such, the Trade Information Center has suggested that Vietnamese firms should increase exports of wanted products.

Notably, in the Chinese Markets Vietnamese eggplant, squash and varieties of bean are competing well against similar Chinese products.

Such products’ exports reach 30 to 100 tons per week, and these figures are predicted to increase towards the end of June.

Despite their WTO commitment, China is still keeping close tariff barriers on agricultural products from other countries, which has made some Vietnamese firms rather reserved about the situation.

Once the two countries reach an agreement about the problem, the volume of Vietnamese fruit and vegetable exports to China, particularly through the Mong Cai border gate in the Quang Ninh province, would increase dramatically.
