Cuba: potential market of Vietnamese firms

Cuba is considered to be a highly potential market providing many cooperation and investment opportunities for Vietnam not only in Cuba but also in Latin America and Caribbean region, said director of HCMC Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Pham Thiet Hoa at a seminar yesterday.

The seminar on investment opportunities in Cuba was hosted by the center and Cuban Consulate General in HCMC.
According to Mr. Hoa, the Cuban market opens many cooperation and investment opportunities in fields which are strength of Vietnam such as agriculture, tourism, garment and textile, consumer goods and telecommunications and in fields which are strength of Cuba such as education, health and construction.
In 2016, Vietnam’s import value from Cuba reached US$240 million. Vietnam was among ten nations with largest trade turnover value with Cuba and the second important Asian partner of Cuba.
ITPC will send a delegation of businesses to survey the Cuban market from March 8-17.
