City chairman requires salary, bonus payment for Tet shopping

Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong has signed a directive requiring agencies, districts and state - owned businesses under the city management to build a plan to take care of spiritual and material life for workers and soon pay salary and bonus for them to do shopping for Tet holiday.

In addition, they should visit those under the state’s preferential treatment policies and disadvantageous families to ensure that they will have a warm and happy lunar New Year festival.
The directive requires neither pay Tet greeting visits to leaders of all levels nor give superior leaders Tet presents under any form. Relevant agencies and organizations should focus on fulfilling missions in the plan for 2018 and spend time on visiting businesses to grasp their production and trading situation and clear their difficulties in a timely manner.
From now until Tet holiday, Government agencies are banned from going on business, visiting or learning abroad except special cases decided by the chairman of HCMC People’s Committee.
HCMC Police Department and district people’s committees are responsible for ensuring security, social order and safety for residents to celebrate Tet holiday. District people’s committee chairmen will be held responsible if complicated fires occur and seriously cause human and property damage.
Agencies should focus on solving unsolved cases to prevent residents and businesses from long waiting. Right after the holiday ends, agencies, districts and state businesses must be back to normal. The Department of Internal Affairs should intensify inspection over working time of government agencies in days near Tet and after the holiday to ensure working efficiency of officials, cadres and workers.
