Can Tho city hosts activities marking Japan-Vietnam diplomatic ties

A series of cultural and trading activities marking the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan will be held in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho from November 2-4, announced the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Can Tho (VCCI Can Tho).

The program includes a ceremony celebrating the 45th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan ties, Vietnam-Japan trade and cultural exchange, a photo exhibition on the Peace Movement in Japan Supporting Vietnam during Wartime (1954 – 1975), the inauguration of the Information Technology Development Center between Can Tho University and Japanese enterprises, the announcement of establishment of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Industrial Park, Vietnam- Japan Trade and Cooperation Forum, seminar on cultures of Vietnam, Japan and the Mekong Delta region.
On the occasion, the first direct flight departing from Tokyo to the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho will carry more than 100 Japanese businessmen to participate in activities.
According to VCCI Can Tho, Japan has 3,889 projects worth over US$55 billion, including 172 projects worth US$US$2.2 billion in the Mekong Delta region in general and 8 project valued US$34.5 million in Can Tho in particular.
