Banks offer interest rate of up to 10.2 percent per annum for deposits

In order to prepare capital sources for loans at the end of the year, besides mobilizing savings at high interest rates of up to nearly 9 percent per annum for 12-month term, commercial banks have also raced to attract capital through certificate of deposit with interest rate above 10 percent per annum.
Accordingly, Viet Capital Bank on August 19 issued registered certificate of deposit for individuals and organizations with interest rate at 10.2 percent per annum for 60 months, 10 percent per annum for 48 months, 9.8 percent per annum for 36 months and 9.5 percent per annum for 24 months. The depositors are allowed to give, donate and transfer in accordance with regulations.

Some other banks also issued certificate of deposit with interest rate at above 9 percent per annum, such as VietABank offered an interest rate of 9.1 percent per annum for 24 months; VIB proffered an interest rate of 9.1 percent per annum for 61 months and interest is paid after each 12 months. SHB proposed an interest rate of 9 percent per annum.
