Arrest of former Trust Bank leaders not affects CB Bank- banker

The January 10 arrest and prosecution of two former leaders of Dai Tin Bank (Trust Bank) does not affect operation of Construction Bank (CB), formerly known as Trust Bank, according to an announcement from CB.

Investigation Police Agency yesterday held in custody Hoang Van Toan, former chairman of Trust Bank’s board of directors and Tran Son Nam, former director general.
 
Trust Bank was renamed Vietnam Construction Bank (VNBC) which later was transferred into Construction Bank (CB).
 
According to CB, the arrest and prosecution is for investigation of a case related to Trust Bank and unrelated to CB operations. The two offenders have been dismissed from their posts and no longer worked at VNBC since early 2013.
 
The State Bank of Vietnam has submitted to the Government a plan on restructuring the bank in which Vietcombank will directly assist CB to reshuffle.
 
CB has officially been transferred into state owned bank model with the comprehensive support from Vietcombank.since March 5, 2015. For the last two years, CB has positively developed, aiming to become a modern retailed bank.
