The index went up 0.9 percent over December and 4.3 percent over April last year.
Last month, seven groups of commodities and services saw price increase. Of these, medicines and medical services recorded strong hike by 8.05 percent because some provinces continued the roadmap of raising health service prices. Others groups slightly edged up from 0.01-0.1 percent.
Price drop occured in four groups. Specifically, transport was down 1.38 percent under influence of petrol price cuts recently.
Food and restaurant services, the largest group in the basket of goods and services used for CPI calculation, slid 0.64 percent because food price reduced 1.11 percent with a strong fall in pork prices.
Housing and construction materials fell 0.24 percent while telecommunications decreased 0.03 percent.
In the first four months this year, the CPI reduced to 4.8 percent, lower than 4.96 percent in March.
