ACB expands network strongly

Ho Chi Minh City-based Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) has opened a series of new transaction offices in the city, the north and the Mekong Delta this month to tap increasing demand.

On June 28, the bank launched a transaction office located on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in HCM City’s District 1. It is situated next to busy Wonder Buy Mall that sells electronics and home appliances.

It is the 255th unit of the bank nationwide. Like other offices, this one takes deposits, make loans, settle international payments, and provide foreign exchange services and other banking services.

On June 22, ACB opened a transaction office on Ky Dong Street, District 3 in the city.

One day earlier, the bank inaugurated its new Can Tho City Branch, and launched three transaction offices in the Mekong Delta city, HCM City and Van Lam District in the northern province of Hung Yen.

Also on June 22, ACB received a Citibank performance excellence award for global electronic payments leadership and excellence in 2009. Gary Chan, director of Citibank Ho Chi Minh City Branch, who presented the award to ACB, said a total of 36 Asian banks received this award for 2009, with ACB being the only bank in Vietnam to secure it.

In May alone, the bank opened four transaction offices in the city, one in Halong City, the northern province of Quang Ninh, and another in Bac Giang Province, also in the north.
